Imlil village in the High Atlas Mountains

Spend a day outdoors and enjoy the beautiful High Atlas mountains!

Take a break from busy Marrakech and join our private day trip; we’ll go hiking in the calm and relaxing High Atlas Mountains, near Imlil.

Prepare to enjoy a taste of local Moroccan mountain life while traveling in a solid 4×4, SUV or mini-van (European Standard).

You will be picked up at your hotel or Square Jemaa El-Fnaa at approximately 9:00 am, where we will drive via the outskirts of Marrakech to the High Atlas Mountains. After traveling for 1hr 45mins we will arrive in Imlil and begin our 2-3 hour guided hike.

The roads and trails are mainly unpaved so you will need comfortable sturdy footwear. The weather can be cool during the winter months and quite warm during the summer months, so we recommend you research the temperatures prior to departure and dress in layers, ensuring your comfort. It is also important to bring drinking water and sunscreen.

Following the hike, we will have lunch with local Moroccan people and of course, enjoy some delicious mint tea! When we have finished lunch there will be an optional second hike, or you can choose to relax in the village, enjoying local shops, cafes and the fresh mountain air. Settle back into the vehicle in the late afternoon to enjoy the scenic trip back to Marrakech where you will be dropped of at your point of pick up.

Bring some good hiking shoes with you. Depending on the time of the year it can be cold in the mountains. Be sure to bring some warm clothes along.
