• Stays in a hotel in Marrakech, a 1 night in a gite (rural Moroccan home), camping and in a basic camp

8 Day Hiking in atlas and Toubkal Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech Arrival

Welcome to Morocco! You will probably arrive at Marrakech Menara airport. We will pick you up and bring you to your hotel. For the rest of the day, you will have time to acclimatize and free time to discover the impressive ‘red city’ of Marrakech. You could visit Djemaa El Fnaa, drink some delicious fresh fruit juice, enjoy the snake charmers and wander around in the souks. 

Day 2: Marrakech – Imi Oughlad

We drive to Imi Oughlad (by minibus or 4×4), over there we will pick up the mules and their muleteers that will carry our luggage and tents during the trip. Then we’ll have a 5-hour walk via the Tacht pass to the Azaden valley. Our cook will prepare a picnic lunch along the route. In the Azaden Valley, we will have dinner in a camp and pass the night. The camp itself will be fairly basic; bedding, matrasses, and toilet facilities are provided

Day 3: Northern slope of Mount Toubkal (3030 m)

Today we will walk along the northern slope and pass some Amazigh villages. We will climb to 3030 meters today. We can enjoy the beautiful scenery and we will have a picnic lunch on the slope. Dinner and stay will be in our camp

Day 4: Toubkal Base Camp (3207 m)

Today we will walk across the Aguelzim pass (3550m) and descend to the Toubkal Base Camp. We will camp outside the refuge. Dinner and stay will be in our camp

Day 5: Mount Toubkal Ascent(4167 m)

Today will be the day that we will actually walk to the top of Mount Toubkal and back to the base camp. We will have dinner and stay in our camping spot near the Toubkal Base Camp.

Day 6: Toubkal Camp to Aroumd

If it’s possible (Hassan will decide, depending on the weather and the group) we will walk to Mount Ouanakrim (4088 m). Later on, we will descend to the village Aremd where we will have dinner and stay in a gite (rural Moroccan home) with a shower and toilet.

Day 7: Imlil back to Marrakech

We will walk to Imlil and from there on we will take the minibus to Marrakech. On the go, we will stop to have lunch. We will stay at a hotel in Marrakech, free time in Marrakech

Day 8: Marrakech Airport Transfer

This is the last day of your trip (unless you booked some extra nights). You will have free time in Marrakech and when it’s time to leave we will bring you to the airport.
